1988. It’s hot and dry in the USA. Scientists announce in the US Senate that significant climate change is underway – the “Greenhouse Effect”. During his candidacy for the presidency, Vice President George H. W. Bush promises to actively combat climate change. So the movie begins, and we learn what really happened during George H. W. Bush’s presidency from 1989 to 1993. The emerging politicization of climate science, in which influential industry players, the lobbyists, got the upper hand, despite growing public concern and Bush’s campaign promises. It is the story of climate change denial, bought scientists and the victory of the lobbyists.
