“The Biggest Little Farm” is the true story of urbanites John and Molly, who give up their regular life in Los Angeles to live their dream of owning their own farm.

Because their dog Todd barks too loudly, Molly and John Chester have to leave their small apartment in Los Angeles. Their new home is also the realization of a lifelong dream. The 80 hectares of ‘Apricot Lane Farms’, with their orchards, meadows and pastures, will become a new home not only for the couple, but also for countless domestic and wild animals. Among them are Emma the pig and her best friend, Greasy the rooster.

For ten years, we accompany Molly and John on their daring and sometimes rocky road, as they show us how a dried-up and uncultivated piece of land awakens to diverse new life through regenerative agriculture.

John Chester has been working as a filmmaker and television director for over 25 years. He has won five Emmy Awards for his documentary film series ‘Super Soul Sunday’, including for outstanding directing and cinematography. Filming around the world intensified his interest in the complex interplay of ecosystems – a curiosity that inspires him every day at Apricot Lane Farms, the biodynamic and sustainably managed farm that he and his wife Molly started in 2011.
