RESPONSIBLE – THERE IS NO BUSINESS TO BE DONE ON A BROKEN PLANET

There is such a thing as responsible entrepreneurship. In the documentary ‘Responsible – There is No Business to be Done on a Broken Planet’, we meet the people behind impressive companies that act responsibly towards the community and the planet and still manage to make a profit. One of the pioneers of this approach is Yvon Chouinard, who founded a small outdoor clothing company called Patagonia in the 1970s – a company that has achieved worldwide fame with its sustainability concept. His basic idea was to show that it is important to focus on people and the planet and not just on profit. Chouinard’s company, and others we are introduced to in the film, respect human dignity, are against child labour and work to protect the environment. There are now many companies that operate according to these principles and that we as consumers can support.
