On May 28, 2026, the Potsdam Climate Prize will be awarded at the Film Museum. The competition recognizes climate activism and a willingness to embrace change within Potsdam’s urban community.
With ten entries, the “Civic Engagement” category was particularly well-represented. The jury awarded prizes to two institutions, one company, and one school. The selected projects focus on reducing chemical use, addressing heat stress, and preventing emissions. The school project stood out in particular for its ideas on how to act in a more climate-responsible manner.
The Potsdam Climate Award is presented by the City of Potsdam. Its partners include the municipal utilities, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), and Energie Forum Potsdam e. V. The award recognizes ideas and concrete contributions to greater climate protection in everyday life—coming directly from the city’s community.
